4/23/2024 0 Comments Coolant low light![]() Its chirped the tires on a few up shifts, slap shifted a few gears and I even found the rear end half empty ( no leaks ) but not stranded me yet. That being said its never left me on the side of the road. This one was 25k more than I paid for the LT and honestly, not half the truck. These trucks are not cheap and I think I have purchased the right to some sort of dependability. That's a direct link to quality and frankly it pisses me off. This 18 travels the same roads through the same dirt across the same locations my 13 LT did with the difference being how much sooner something has failed. I work out of my truck, its my office and without it I can't do my job. I should probably explain my POS comments as this is just another item in a long list irritating failures. The $64 question is : did they upgrade / update this sensor or will my DIC light up again in a month or so. I agree and my new one arrived yesterday. This may just be a conspiracy theory rant I came up with on the evening walk around my neighborhood, but it does make one think about how much BS is not disclosed by the manufacturer thanks to the parasite law firms and attorneys out there. And so the circle jerk continues at the consumers expense, be it financial or emotional. Instead the dealership blames it on a lift kit that has nothing to do with the sensor failure in the coolant reservoir tank, simply because they have lost their ass trying to get reimbursed from GM who said they will only pay for the initial attempt at fixing the problem. some blood-sucking law firm with too many attorneys would start a class-action lawsuit against GM and cost millions of dollars, which over time is passed on to us (the consumer) Therefore, if the financial risk is too high in admitting fault, GM avoids producing any documentation on a part failure and the proper repair procedure for the dealership technicians. If the truth were to be disclosed and it ended up being a faulty design, faulty part, or simply a result of buying from the lowest bidder out of China without proper quality control protocols, etc. we will never get the truth from GM (or any other manufacturer). Did they specify that the 5 were all 2019 L5P's or just that they had 5 customers that needed that repair.įrustrating part. Some will get a lot of trucks through in a couple months and may have 100's in their customer base. Never needed head gaskets - although, of course, it can and does happen sometimes. Sometimes found a hose clamp a little loose. Over the years I've had lots of engines that needed a little coolant added occasionally. I'd top up the coolant reservoir and see how quickly it's losing coolant. Have you verified that the reservoir is topped up (when cold) per the manual.?Īs ElmosBoy posted, leaky reservoirs have been fairly common. I'd expect the dealer unlikely to proceed until GM (or customer) has agreed to pay. ![]() If it needs head gaskets it will be covered - unless you done something to void the powertrain warranty.Īnd GM will likely want a snapshot of the computer logs before approving the work.
